P6 and P7 World War Two Days – Each class had a really super whole day experience last week from Homefront Histories.
Science Festival – Feedback from children and staff indicated that this year’s festival was particularly good. Our children behaved so well and were a credit to the school both here and when they visited other schools. Thank you to the vast majority of families who dress their children in school uniform. Not only does it create a sense of identity and pride, but from a safety and security point it is much easier to identify our pupils at large group events.
Open Morning/Afternoon – Thank you to everyone who came along on Friday or is coming along on Tuesday. We appreciate that folk often have to take time off work but for children to know that their family is interested and supporting them is very important.
Cinema Visit – All classes are going to see Boss Baby at the cinema on Wednesday 5th April.
Bring and Buy Sale – Thank you very much for supporting this event. We had an extensive selection of very good quality books and toys and made £205 which will be shared equally between Cancer Research UK and British Heart Foundation.
Head Lice – Outbreaks occur from time to time and parents should check their child’s hair regularly. If you discover head lice there is no need for pupils to be absent from school once treatment has started. Check the NHS website for further information on the range of products available. Your pharmacist can also offer advice.
Swimming – Good news! We will have a slot on Friday mornings for the whole of next term. The first three Fridays will be for P4 then the remainder of the term for P5.
Easter Egg Hunt – The Pupil Council is organising an Easter Egg Hunt in the playground for all classes this week.
Library – New furniture has been ordered and we are trying to securing funding for carpeting, painting and books this term too.
Easter Holidays – School closes at the normal time on Wednesday 5th April and opens again on Monday 24th April. Have a lovely holiday!
Mon 1st May – School closed for May holiday.
Thurs 4th May – School closed to pupils as it’s being used for local elections. This means that school will now be open on Monday 5th June.
Friday 30th June – School closes at lunchtime for summer holidays.
